August Wilson House

Fine Art Architectural Restoration is a consulting preservation contractor on the restoration of the August Wilson House at 1727 Bedford Ave in the Hill District in Pittsburgh, PA. The two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author of Fences and The Piano Lesson lived at this address above the Bella family grocery store with his mother and five siblings until he was 13 years old.
A long-planned project is underway to restore this dwelling and reopen it as a proud cultural resource for the Hill District. The home is being converted into an exhibition and educational space, and Fine Art Architectural Restoration has been, among other things, cleaning sections of linoleum flooring and wallpaper taken from the August Wilson House that will be used to recreate the historic patterns and color schemes with new linoleum and wallpaper.
